jump rope girl

a moment to brag here, please...

muffy has not taken to athletics too well

(bless her heart, she follows after her mother 

and is on the dramatic side)

so when the jump rope competition at school was announced,

she was understandably worried.

day after day my sweet girl practiced and practiced

and at the end of the competition 

it was announced that she jumped 125 times 

(not consecutively) 

and tied for first place in kindergarten!

what a lesson she learned -- 

you can do anything if you put your mind to it and practice!

drop off

today is one of those days i realized i have a big girl

little miss muffy asked if instead of walking her into school i could just sit with her in the drop off car line and let her get out on her own and go into school by herself.

so we sat in the car and listened to katy perry. and said our good-byes.

it wasn't too long ago i was drying her eyes at 

day-care because she didn't want me to go.

not to worry, she still needs mama for most other things....for now

i am sick of snow (forecast calls for more)

so i started spring shopping for muffy 

and found some

i love anything miss tory is touting!

they say a copy is a true form of flattery,

and the janie and jack tory take offs are just so adorable!

vera stars

this past saturday muffy and i went to the 

vera commercial shoot at our nearby store

she practiced her lines for the :30 spot for nearly an hour

but when the camera started to roll, she decided to simply smile

then have a vera cookie

and pick up a few new pieces

we had a really fun time and met some great people!

as lifelong vera bradley fans, muffy and i are 

forever updating our handbag collection, 

so you can imagine my delight when i got this email 

calling for all vera lovers to go 

in front of the camera to 

be a part of a VB campaign!

this was taken three years ago, 

and we have added several more current patterns 

to our collection since then!

ladies who brunch

we had a lovely time at our santa brunch 

on sunday and were put in quite the festive spirit.

my girlfriend and her daughter 

(muffy's bf since the day she was born) 

joined us for a ladylike day.

we first visited with santa

and both girls said they didn't know what they would like

(could it be because they both have EVERYTHING already?!?)

muffy did not eat much, since there was a piano man 

asking children to join him on stage to sing and dance....

(the girl LOVES a stage)

and speaking of stages, we went to see our local presentation 

of The Nutcracker afterwards.

our dear little friend was a mouse. how precious.

we are in full-on Christmas mode here ....

just a few more sleeps!

a weekend of LILLY!

when i got the email that my favorite lilly store in the pink was having a sale,

i did a squeal and muffy and i headed to newbury street in boston to shop!

i didn't go too crazy, but did get an adorable cotton jersey strapless top for me

and a sweet matching dress for muffy for when

we go to the beach in rhode island in a couple weeks.

(pillowcase style)


all the minnie's were half off -- that's $24 for a lilly dress!

after gathering our bags, muffy says, mama, i think i'm all lilly'd out!

(what?!?)

then she said, i mean until fall.

(phew! but still!)

but that does not complete my lilly weekend...

i am the lucky recipient of a fabulous new lilly handbag from

the sweet BLC at http://thecompanyshekeeps.blogspot.com/

and i received it on friday!
