beach week(end)

we are milking this last bit of summer for all its worth 

with our annual family beach week and a run for the water!

although i am still working, we did enjoy a wonderful weekend 

in nearby rhode island at the beach.

(muffy and mr prep will be there most of the week 

with his parents, brother and nephews)

we stay in such a quaint little town, with beautiful views of the bay

 

(this is from the upper deck of the house we rent)

and the neighborhood is just filled with such 

cute cottages with backyard access to the bay

 

(we stay in a little bit bigger house)

the beach is only a couple miles down the road

we found the perfect beach car and muffy wanted her picture by it

and what summer weekend would be complete 

without a picture of mama matching her minnie in lilly?

friends, forever

bestest buddies at the beach

my good friend and her daughters were just here visiting from China!

(her husband was transfered there from MA two years ago)

her youngest daughter is one of muffy's nearest and dearest,

 and even though they have not seen each other in years,
they hit  it off as if they had just seen each other yesterday.

after all, isn't that what friends do?

no matter the distance, they pick right up where they left off.

i'm so fortunate to have friends all over the country, and now the world.

and muffy loves knowing she has a buddies that are as close as next door

AND just as close in her heart -- even if we have to look on a map to find them.
