as far as chains go, i'd say
the capital grille
(i'm a steak-and-potato-type-of-girl)

or one of my favorites of all time is
the offshore ale company 
in oak bluffs, martha's vineyard
it's not swanky, but the seafood is great,
you can eat handfulls of peanuts out of whiskey barrels
and throw the shells on the floor
and i've always had a great time there!

what does your room look like?

well, not exactly, but you get the idea.
sleigh bed and furniture
cream-color bedding
sage green silk doupioni curtains
framed monet prints on the wall
wedding pictures in silver frames
and a cute little eiffel tower lamp on the nightstand

if you could have dinner with two people, dead or alive, who would they be?

my grandfather (passed away) and my father (thankfully, still with me)
they are the two guys that really "get me", love me unconditionally, and are the best men a girl could ever meet.
plus, they're pretty interesting and funny!

what is your next big splurge?

oh, how i wish it was an exotic vacation, new car, or gorgeous jewelry, but, sadly, it's a new roof for the house! 

what is your favorite joke, quote or saying?

"never underestimate the effect you have on other people"

i think this is sooo true!

and

my grandfather used to say this.

i think it was his way of telling me never to give up!

i was once a personal guest of oprah's on the oprah winfrey show!

(she was a client of the polo store when i worked there in chicago)

i was lucky enough to attend a show where richard gere was a guest,
then return as her own guest another time...
and was totally treated like a queen:
luxurious limo service,
green-room goodies
and hugs from oprah herself!
