ahhh, the south is alive in the north!

never in my wildest dreams did i expect to raise muffy 

as a southern belle in the north.

though i do try my darnedest.

i mean, the signature big bow strategically tacked down to that child's head

is her signature statement!

then i went to kindergarten orientation night...

would you believe that the little elementary school she'll be attending 

was named for the man who supplied all the straw hats 

to the actors for Gone With The Wind?

(the straw company was based in our town)

just think! miss scarlett actually wore a hat made in my town!

i learned that during each school year there is a designated straw hat day for the children to dress up like characters from the movie/book

and a founder's day dedicated to it!

wasn't she lovely?

and awful? 

and sweet?

 and mean? and tormented?

and strong? 

 

and adored? 

and completely, well...southern?!?
